Valley API Mental Health Project

At the 2018 San Joaquin Valley API Mental Health Convening, our morning keynote speaker, Dr. Debra Kawahara, discussed multicultural competency within the Asian American community, and our afternoon keynote, Dr. Wei-Chin Hwang, explained how providers can address intergenerational conflicts within immigrant families.  Jamie Xiong-Vang, an attorney from McCormick  Barstow LLP, presented a workshop on immigrant hardship waivers, and Dr. Dana Riley and Marlene Pena from EPU presented a workshop on how to support families in seeking school services.
